We are seeking skilled and dedicated Database Administrators to join our team at PRAL headquarters in Islamabad. The successful candidates will work on PRAL-managed commercial projects, ensuring the performance, availability, and operations of our databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems to ensure their availability, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Ensure the security of databases by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur on call or weekends from home.
- Implementation of High Availability of Data (HA)/DR techniques to avoid Data Loss
- Ensure documenting the company’s database environment, Disaster Recovery strategies, and audit policies to fulfill the requirement of audits.
- Perform database tuning and optimization.
- Conduct regular backup and recovery procedures.
- Create and manage database-related documentation, including data models, schemas, and procedures.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Work closely with development, QC, and operations teams to support database requirements and ensure best practices.
- Ensure compliance with data integrity and security policies.
- Any other tasks assigned by the General Manager (Operations).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Applicants with Microsoft or Oracle database-related certifications are preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in managing both Microsoft and Oracle database systems.
