The SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills on MS SQL Server 2012, 2017 ,2019 etc.
- Responsible for providing technical support for the establishment of different database environments like Test, training, and Production.
- Ensuring Business RPO/RTO by taking all necessary measures for all databases
- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur on call or on weekends from home.
- Implementation of High Availability of Data (HA)/DR techniques to avoid Data Loss
- Ensure documenting the company’s database environment, Disaster Recovery strategies, Audit policies to fulfill requirements of audits.
- Ensuring the performance and security of the database environment
Essential Skills Required
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2012, 2017, 2019.
- Working knowledge of SSIS, database replication especially transactional replication, SQL Server Tools (SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, DMVs)
- Working experience in Performance tuning, query optimization techniques, and Backup & recovery methods in SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience in Database partitioning.
- Working experience in identifying & resolving performance bottlenecks of databases
- Strong skills in T-SQL. Basic knowledge of cluster management, HA & DR methodologies.
Other desirable skills:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
- Ability to work in a team environment & learn new technologies.
- Be able & available to work on Production issues after hours or on weekends.
- Keen to learn new tools and technologies.
