Position Overview

As a Cotton Trader at FMI, you will be integral to supporting the analysis, reporting, and management of agricultural commodity data. This role focuses on maintaining accurate databases, generating insightful market reports, and analyzing customer-specific offers to optimize trade opportunities. You will also gain a deep understanding of our customers' needs and methods of operation, helping drive FMI’s strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on agricultural commodities, focusing on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to support strategic business decisions.
  • Customer Analysis & Recommendations: Analyze customer-specific offers and market data to provide tailored recommendations that enhance client satisfaction and optimize trade opportunities.
  • Market Reporting: Generate and distribute daily market reports with analysis on price trends, market conditions, and other key industry insights to aid decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update comprehensive databases related to commodity consumption, ensuring data accuracy and reliability for internal and client reporting purposes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales and execution departments, to ensure alignment on market strategies and client needs, facilitating seamless execution of commodity transactions.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry experts to gather valuable market insights and foster long-term partnerships.

Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree (4 years) in agribusiness, agricultural economics, statistics, mass communication, or a related field.
  • Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions and data analysis tools).
  • Excellent command of English (both written and verbal).

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel out of the city for work when needed.
