Monitoring Officer (Civil Engineer)

We are seeking a Monitoring Officer/ Civil Engineer to manage construction projects, conduct site investigations, assess risks, and ensure safe project completion.

Job Responsibilities:

Performing technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing maps, survey reports, plans and related data to create and design civil engineering projects.
Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.
Responsible for generating Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals.
May be responsible for bid analysis, constructability reviews, and permit processing.
Inspect all work to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
Have a general understanding of project budget and assist with buyouts.
Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to as appropriate.
Plan and organize construction engineering projects from conception to completion.
Generate project punch list and closeout documentation.
Determining construction costs, local and professional building regulations, environmental impacts and other factors that can affect project implementation.
Carrying out extensive environmental impact assessments and identifying potential risk factors that can affect project delivery.
Collaborating with professionals such as Architects and other stake holders.
Enforcing engineering, local and legal regulations like health and safety protocols on-site.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on the assigned project area’s progress and results.
Design and carry out baseline studies, midterm reviews, and end-line studies.
Monitor, report, and revise project indicators and log-frame as required.
Design tailored qualitative and quantitative data collection tools to measure project performance against indicators.
Actively visit the project sites and generate qualitative as well as quantitative evidence of progress and results.
Collect and analyze data to assess progress towards project targets and milestones, including disaggregating and analyzing data by various variables.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD
Experience in site layout, erosion control, utility design and environmental impact assessment
Proficiency in project management, cost control and problem solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, when needed.
