Head of Engineering and Product

Optima Technology Zone Pvt Ltd seeks a strong, hands-on Head of Engineering and Product to lead the technical vision and development of its platform. This role demands full ownership of the platforms architecture across cloud, edge, mobile, and hardware integration layers. The ideal candidate drives product strategy and engineering excellence by personally contributing deep technical expertise in coding, architecture, and system reliability while translating market needs into actionable product roadmaps. They are directly responsible for product delivery, ensuring scalability, security, and stability within live commercial environments. Although the position involves technical leadership, it does not include managing a team, requiring a highly self-driven individual capable of making decisive architecture and product decisions independently. This role combines technical mastery with product ownership, requiring significant experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, and multi-tenant SaaS systems. The candidate must exhibit strong judgment in selecting technology stacks, secure design practices, and integrating advanced concepts like blockchain where appropriate. Clear communication across technical and business audiences is essential. In addition to defining and driving the product roadmap, this role involves close collaboration with pilot clients, rigorous prioritization, and high standards in engineering processes. Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture across cloud services, edge computing, mobile platforms, and hardware integrations, ensuring seamless operation and scalability.
• Make and defend core technology decisions including selection of tech stack, data models, multi-tenant strategies, deployment topologies, and build versus buy analyses.
• Write, review, and maintain production-quality code with hands-on involvement, focusing on the most challenging system components.
• Ensure system reliability, uptime, performance, and quick recovery in live commercial environments with a security-first approach.
• Set and enforce engineering standards encompassing code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration/delivery, observability, incident response, and technical documentation.
• Oversee the platforms security posture by managing device authentication, credential security, and comprehensive data protection strategies.
• Own the product roadmap by translating market research, client feedback, and business objectives into prioritized and executable plans.
• Collaborate closely with design and business teams to define detailed product specifications, user flows, and acceptance criteria that meet client needs.
• Prioritize features ruthlessly, balancing breadth and depth to maximize impact and timely delivery, including making tough decisions about what to delay or omit.
• Engage directly with pilot customers to validate product adoption, gathering feedback to refine future iterations.
• Lead sprint planning processes, oversee delivery cadence, and maintain high code quality standards.
• Represent the technical perspective with leadership, business partners, and enterprise clients, clearly communicating complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and evaluate potential integrations such as AI/ML capabilities and blockchain components relevant to the product.
• Manage continuous improvement of platform operations, ensuring best practices in system monitoring, reliability, performance optimization, and security compliance.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors and system integrators to facilitate smooth platform integration and deployment in relevant environments.
