OpsDek is seeking an experienced Draftsman specializing in Civil and MEP disciplines to contribute to a variety of projects based in the GCC region and international locations. This remote position demands proficiency in architectural, civil, or mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drafting with a strong command of industry-standard software tools. The ideal candidate has at least five years of relevant experience and excels in producing detailed, accurate drawings that meet project specifications and client expectations. Clear and professional written communication skills are essential for effective coordination with clients and project teams. This role does not include team management responsibilities but requires independent work with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
The Draftsman will work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to transform concepts and preliminary designs into precise technical schematics. The position calls for advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Civil 3D to develop 2D and 3D models and drawings that support the construction and design processes. The candidate will also assist in preparing documentation for project submissions, ensuring compliance with regional standards, and incorporating feedback from various stakeholders. A portfolio of work or project samples is required to demonstrate proficiency in handling complex drafting assignments.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed architectural, civil, and MEP drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Civil 3D software in accordance with project requirements.
- Develop and revise 2D and 3D models to accurately represent design intent and construction details.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and clients through clear and professional written communication to clarify design specifications and resolve issues.
- Prepare and organize layers, templates, and blocks to maintain consistency and efficiency in drafting output.
- Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions into drawings promptly to meet project deadlines.
- Support project teams by providing necessary drafting documentation for submissions, permits, and construction phases.
- Maintain an organized library of drawings, templates, and reference materials for easy access and reuse.
- Utilize Civil 3D for survey data integration, terrain modeling, and infrastructure layouts as required.
- Contribute to the creation of visual presentations and client reports by developing accurate sketches and presentation boards.
- Stay updated on new drafting techniques, software updates, and industry best practices to continuously improve work quality.
