We're seeking a talented and passionate individual for the role of Marketing Operations. As a Membership Development Officer, you'll play a key role in promoting trade activities in between UK and Pakistan.

The Organization

An exciting opportunity has arisen for both as Part Time/Full Time Membership Development Officer to join a Commercial organization that promotes bilateral trade and services from the UK to Pakistan and Pakistan to UK vice-a-versa by engaging directly with manufacturers, services providers, exporters and importers in UK.  i.e. Textile, Food, Support goods, Surgical items, IT, Jewelry, Gems & Stones, Mining, Franchising, Education, Training, etc.

With previous experience working within a Membership or Professional Body focused on Professional Development, you will be representing a qualifying body, to promote trade and services from UK to Pakistan and Pakistan to UK and vice-a-versa by engaging directly with manufacturers, services providers, exporters, and importers in UK.

The Role

The Membership Development Officer - will cover London/North/North West England /Scotland. You will be required to visit client locations based in the North West of England at least 2-3 days a week, therefore travel across the England at times will be required, the rest of the time the role will be home-based.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Membership Support - providing advice and guidance to manufacturers, service provider, exporter and importer.
  • Membership growth - undertaking activities to promote and grow membership mainly within in your designated area of England or Scotland.
  • Business development - developing and marketing activities to progress and support aspirant members for the different routes to membership and ensuring effective delivery within in your designated area of England or Scotland.
  • Working closely with the Membership Manager, existing MDOs, Membership Support Centre and Membership areas to ensure a consistency of approach.
  • Ensuring that the Institute membership records are up to date.

What we are looking for:

  • Have a thorough knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Experience working within a Membership or Professional Development setting is essential and strong communication skills.
  • Have experience developing, maintaining and delivering marketing strategies.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent,
  • Experience in customer service, learning and development or a related subject is essential.
  • Previous exposure to liaising with a wide audience of people, along with the ability to engage and relate to senior members of the trade bodies, and chamber of commerce. Ideally you should also be experienced in or have knowledge of trading and consumer items being exported and imported from UK and Pakistan.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to turn technical material into non-technical outputs are essential, as is the ability to target and engage a diverse range of audiences.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a multi-functional team, while managing and planning a number of simultaneous tasks effectively is key to this role.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare and deliver presentations. You will also be capable of public facing interactions on an individual and group basis.
  • Strong supporting ICT capabilities with knowledge and skills in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) are essential.
  • There will be a need to work outside "normal office hours", when necessary.
  • Have drive and determination.
  • Be adaptable, proactive and positive
