OneContact Tech is seeking a dedicated Remote Quality Assurance Engineer with at least four years of experience to enhance the quality of its SaaS products. This role requires a professional who has progressed beyond fundamental testing skills and is eager to take ownership of advanced automated testing initiatives. The successful candidate will engage deeply with software quality assurance processes, collaborate closely with engineering and product teams, and contribute to maintaining a robust testing framework built on reliable and reusable automation scripts. Emphasis is placed on a thorough understanding of both manual and automated testing practices, including performance and API testing, to ensure software products perform well across diverse environments.
As a Remote Quality Assurance Engineer at OneContact Tech, the individual will operate independently while maintaining close communication with the development team. This position excludes team management responsibilities but demands an ability to work autonomously while embedding quality assurance throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate must be proficient in creating and maintaining automated test suites, clearly documenting defects, and applying best practices for QA methodology. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively bridge technical findings with actionable insights for product and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze software requirements and specifications to develop comprehensive automated testing strategies for product releases.
- Design, build, and maintain reusable automated test functions and components using clean and maintainable code.
- Execute and uphold automated test suites across multiple systems, platforms, environments, and browsers to guarantee consistent quality.
- Identify, log, track, and communicate defects clearly and effectively to development and product teams, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Apply quality assurance methodologies and testing lifecycle best practices with increasing independence, contributing to continuous process improvements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to incorporate quality assurance processes into every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring quality is embedded from start to finish.
- Utilize expertise in manual testing to complement automated tests, including performance and API testing to validate system functionality under various conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of defect tracking tools and software delivery processes, ensuring efficient and effective quality assurance integration.
- Work independently on assigned testing tasks while maintaining clear and consistent communication with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and progress.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable information understandable by product and development teams to facilitate decision-making and improvements.
