Reports To: Finance Manager / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Overview:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our civil construction company.
- The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to help drive business decisions.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, preferably within the construction industry, and be able to effectively communicate their findings to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Generate detailed financial models to support project planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and management of the annual budget and long-term financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with project managers and department heads to gather necessary data and insights for accurate budgeting and forecasting.
Cost Control and Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and identify areas of potential cost overruns or savings.
- Provide recommendations for cost control measures and financial efficiency improvements.
- Support the procurement team in analyzing vendor bids and contract negotiations.
Project Financial Analysis:
- Perform financial analysis on current and prospective projects, including profitability assessments and risk evaluations.
- Develop financial metrics and KPIs to track project performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Assist in the development of financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
- Evaluate the financial impact of potential business decisions, including new projects, capital investments, and business expansions.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and databases.
- Utilize financial software and tools to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by senior management.
