We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Accountant to join our London PCO Taxi Division. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and demonstrate a strong ability to handle financial records and reports that support strategic decision-making and compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of detailed budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor and report on variances to support strategic decision-making.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Liaise with tax authorities and manage any audits or inquiries.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment in accordance with UK employment regulations.
  • Cost Analysis and Reduction: Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
  • Financial Advisory: Provide financial insights and advice to senior management to aid in operational and strategic decisions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of accounting practices and standards in the UK.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry’s financial specifics is an advantage.
