The Relationship Officer at National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) plays a vital role in establishing and managing Village Branches in collaboration with Business Development Officers. This position focuses on fostering strong client relationships through consistent engagement, accurate record-keeping, and proactive follow-up to ensure timely loan repayments and overall client satisfaction. The officer will be instrumental in expanding the programmes reach by engaging with clients and groups, supporting business development activities in their designated area, and maintaining transparent communication with credit officers and management.
This role is ideal for candidates with at least one year of relevant experience and a background in commerce or related fields. Although the position does not involve managing a team, it requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a steady flow of information between stakeholders. The Relationship Officer must be highly motivated to work in rural support environments and capable of performing diverse tasks ranging from cash handling to group facilitation and village branch administration.
Responsibilities
- Establish Village Branches alongside Business Development Officers to facilitate outreach and programme delivery.
- Prepare detailed maps of the assigned area to optimize client engagement and branch operations.
- Identify and bring in contacts necessary for group formation and community involvement.
- Attend all group meetings regularly to maintain active participation and client rapport.
- Keep precise records of appraisals and maintain comprehensive documentation at the Village Branch or Field Office.
- Log and monitor rejected loan or service cases for review and follow-up.
- Maintain an updated list of dues and overdue payments, and proactively remind clients about upcoming payment deadlines.
- Ensure recovery collection is completed on or before scheduled due dates.
- Strategically plan disbursement schedules to enable clients to repay installments punctually.
- Track total amounts due for recovery and reconcile with collection efforts.
- Deposit cash with the designated office or bank as directed by the Branch Manager.
- Maintain daily cash-in-hand reports to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial transactions.
- Develop and sustain close contact with all clients to foster trust and address their concerns promptly.
- Communicate regularly with Credit Officers about client issues and programme feedback.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily movements and post schedules at the Village Branch for operational clarity.
- Write daily diaries and registers documenting visits and field observations to support programme monitoring.
- Coordinate with Business Development Officers to facilitate programme expansion within the area.
- Provide clients and group members with information about other NRSP interventions and ensure availability of brochures and relevant materials at the Village Branch.
- Execute any additional assignments delegated by Business Development Officers, Branch Managers, or Area Managers to support organizational goals.
