1. Masters, ACA/FCA, ACCA, CA Finalist, ICMA or equivalent degree/certification.
2. 9+ years of experience in the field of taxation with more than 4 years in a leading role.
3. Growth mindset, decision making ability, analytical prowess and ability to work unsupervised and drive team forward.
4. Up to date with real-time information on case precedents (SC, HCs etc.) that supersede written law, SROs etc.
5. Sound technical/practical knowledge of sales tax and income tax including but not limited to:
i. E-filing of Income Tax Return of sole proprietorship and limited liability company, Monthly/Quarterly/Bi-annual/Annual Withholding Tax Statements.
ii. Monthly Sales Tax Returns in compliance with FBR rules and regulations.
iii. E-filing of Provincial Sales Tax Returns in compliance with rules and regulations of provincial authorities (PRA, SRB, KPRA).
iv. Preparation and filing of advance taxes u/s 147.
v. Rule 42 correspondence – complete compliance and knowledge.
vi. Compliance against notices issued under different sections (e.g. u/s 161, 122, 120, 177, 25, 33, 38, & 72B)
vii. Rules of Income Tax Ordinance
viii. Sales Tax Act.
ix. Preparation & submission of Tax Appeals at CIR (Appeals) and Tribunal level, including preparation.
x. Written arguments for presentation before appellate forums.
xi. Obtaining tax exemption certificates
xii. Tax planning – Ability to deduce multiple tax saving scenarios based on historical and forecasted data.
xiii. Provision for taxation (for financial statements) calculation
6. Sound practical knowledge and exposure of tax and related authorities (FBR, Provincial tax bodies, I&I, Excise etc.).
7. Ability to work unsupervised and drive team forward.
