Montrose Solicitors is seeking an experienced IT Developer with a strong background in software development and coding to join our technology team. The ideal candidate possesses proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle, Database Management, and artificial intelligence concepts, with at least five years of experience in relevant roles. English proficiency is mandatory to ensure effective communication within the team and across departments. This position focuses on developing high-quality software solutions tailored to meet the firms operational and client service needs. The IT Developer collaborates closely with project managers, business analysts, and other IT professionals to design, build, test, and deploy software applications. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of coding best practices to maintain and enhance the firms software infrastructure. Although this role does not involve managing a team, it demands strong individual contributor skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities

Participate actively in all phases of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code according to specifications and project requirements.
Manage and optimize database systems to ensure reliability, performance, and security of data.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project goals and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform software testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues promptly.
Implement artificial intelligence techniques where applicable to enhance software capabilities.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for software development processes and updates.
Stay updated with the latest software development trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve development processes.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards related to software development and data security.
Support software deployment and provide technical support when necessary.
Engage in code reviews and peer discussions to uphold code quality and knowledge sharing.
