• The position is responsible for managing and mitigating portfolio losses through the development and implementation of efficient and prudent collection strategies. This role ensures that the bank meets its collection & recovery benchmarks while adhering to the State Bank of Pakistan s (SBP) Fair Debt Collection Guidelines and bank internal policies and procedures. The Head C&D will play a key role in formulating a robust default management strategy that aligns with the bank s strategic business objectives. Additionally, the role emphasizes exceptional service delivery, ensuring that all collections actions comply with the regulatory framework on the Fair Treatment of Customers, maintaining a balance between effective collections and customer care.
    • Strategy Development & implementations:
    • Develop and implement a robust & new collection & default strategy in line with bank business objectives while ensuring implementation of an effective structure to maximize recoveries against Non-Performing Loans and charged-off account.
    • Monitor collection budgets, forecasts, and variances, ensuring proper financials & monitoring of delinquent portfolio.
    • Create a feedback loop with line management to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of collection and default processes, and recommend improvements as needed.
    • Develop and update policies, procedures, and guidelines to govern collection activities & providing on-job staff trainings
    • Monitoring Collection & Default Benchmarks:
    • Monitoring of delinquent portfolio bucket wise, region, branch and individual as per bank policy (secured & Un-secured) and regulatory guidelines.
    • Conduct regular market intelligence to identify unforeseen portfolio risks and update stakeholders on potential issues and the corresponding remedial strategies.
    • Refer high-risk delinquent cases to the legal department for initiating legal proceedings to recover outstanding amounts.
    • Assign targets to staff and monitoring the achievements as per overall objectives & default management strategy.
    • Policy Compliance & Internal control:
    • Implement and enforce internal control procedures to ensure all functions under supervision adhere to established processes and guidelines.
    • Ensure fair treatment mechanism within the unit and default management guidelines provided by the SBP
    • Governance & Administration:
    • Assist CBO in Board & Governance matters.
    • Ensure reports submissions to all the stakeholders as per defined timelines and protocols.
    • Other Tasks:
    • Other Tasks assigned by line manager from time to time
    • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master s degree or professional certification in collections or finance is a plus.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in collections & Default management at managerial level
    • Experience in the microfinance or banking industry, specifically managing collections teams, is highly preferred.
    • Proven track record of achieving collection targets, managing teams, and implementing effective recovery strategies.
