About Millsdale
Millsdale is a furniture studio producing solid hardwood pieces through a disciplined workshop process in Islamabad.
Our work combines detailed production documentation, precision-shaped components, skilled workshop execution, and hand-finishing. Each piece is built against a defined specification, with close control of dimensions, materials, joinery, hardware, and finish.
We are looking for a Production Engineer to help translate this technical documentation into accurate, repeatable workshop production.
The RoleYou will work directly with the workshop team and serve as the technical link between production drawings and physical execution.
Your primary responsibilities will be understanding drawings and specifications, communicating requirements clearly to craftsmen, checking components and assemblies against the approved documentation, and identifying deviations before they move further through production.
This is a hands-on, workshop-based position within a small team.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Furniture experience is not required. We are looking for a strong technical foundation, precision, attention to detail, and the ability to learn. Furniture construction, hardwood-specific processes, and Millsdale's production methods will be learned on the job.
Translate technical requirements into clear workshop instructions for Urdu-speaking craftsmen.
Verify components and completed assemblies against approved drawings and specifications.
Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, squares, and tape measures, to check dimensions, alignment, and tolerances.
Identify and document deviations before components proceed to the next stage of production.
Flag drawing ambiguities, production issues, or specification conflicts for review rather than making unapproved design changes.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, production status, and quality checks.
Assist with production planning, material requirements, hardware tracking, and sequencing of workshop activities.
Help develop templates, jigs, checklists, and repeatable production methods as experience develops.
Assist in identifying the causes of production errors and preventing recurrence.
Work directly with craftsmen to improve accuracy and consistency while respecting established woodworking knowledge and methods.
Maintain appropriate workshop safety and quality standards.
Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 3 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
A background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product/Industrial Design, technical drafting, or a comparable technical discipline is preferred.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing 2D technical drawings and navigating 3D models, including STEP (.STEP/.STP) files, to understand components, assemblies, dimensions, and construction details.
