Metro Construction Group has an exciting opportunity for an expert Senior Estimator to join our team of professionals. Working independently from Karachi, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in the construction industry, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. This is the perfect opportunity to build a career at a leading commercial construction company with high chance of transitioning to a management position.
What we are looking for:
- At least 8+ years ‘experience in an estimating role within the commercial construction industry.
- Tertiary qualified Quantity Surveyor, Civil Engineering qualification.
- Strong ability to read architectural, structural, and building service drawings.
- Possess an excellent ability to provide material take-offs using both manual and computerized methods.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills used to liaise with customers and contractors.
- The capability to solve problems in a timely manner, with an innate ability to generate ideas and put forward alternate solutions to budgetary concerns on a project.
- Familiar with the procedures required to submit high quality tenders
- Proven track record of winning tenders in the commercial construction sphere.
- Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- You will pride yourself on your accuracy, attention to detail and ability to do your job at the highest level.
Your key responsibilities:
- Compile accurate pricing schedules to new and existing clientele, with an aim to provide the best price in a competitive market.
- Preparation of RFT packages from start to end in a professional, clear, concise, and accurate format.
- Maintain professional relationships with not only clientele but also subcontractors throughout the estimation process.
- Initiate client meetings and introductions with the ability to reflect company manners and policies.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve estimating efficiency and the overall success of the tendering process.
- Lead ‘kick off’ meetings and ensure only relevant questions/queries/requirements are discussed
