Job Summary:
The Community Health Worker oversees the planning and implementation of outreach strategies. They are primarily responsible for connecting people in the broader community by creating sponsorship agreements and cultivating relationships with businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Support the development and implementation of a sustainable promotion program in the targeted communities and health facilities.
- Identify the areas of need for health promotion and education within targeted communities through contact with community representatives and assessment of knowledge and practices amongst clinic attendants.
- Arrange training for health promotion and communication skills at the level of all supported facilities.
- Conduct training of the community in health and hygiene promotion and the implementation of different techniques and activities in selected communities.
- Liaise with community representatives and members for health work, and encourage the formation of community groups for health promotion activities.
- Promote the utilization of services available at the nearby health facilities by monitoring and supporting the activities of the PHC home visitors.
