The Community Mobilization Officer will assist the project Manager in day-to-day implementation of project related community mobilization activities. S/he will be responsible for the field activities including community engagement, stakeholders’ coordination, awareness building, community mobilization activities under the C19 RM project.

Essential Job Functions

  • This position will be responsible for all project activities inclusive of social mobilization, community building, management of training on IPC, CMCT, mapping and coordination with all relevant stakeholders under the C19 RM project in project areas.
  • Work with the District Field Supervisors and other teams’ members in continuous needs assessment, KAP, data collection, planning and managing surveys process at the community levels and institutional levels.
  • Leading community discussions and the formation of community-based committees/organizations, training of committees, and providing them with the necessary support for the effective delivery of the project activities.
  • To connect, engage and sensitize local communities and target participants in infection prevention and control sessions in targeted institutions.
  • The Community Mobilization Officer will lead training management at the community and facility (health and education) level on IPC, CMCT, and waste management.
  • Besides, the Community Mobilization Officer will take part in facilitating the project engineer and M&E processes to measure performance and overall achievement of project goals.
  • Conduct regular community meetings in the project-targeted communities.
  • To lead the project team in the targeted districts under his/her supervision in project documentation.
  • To develop trust, tolerance, and cooperation among beneficiaries, community members, and local leaders and other stakeholders, especially health and education departments). 
  • Encourage and stimulate full participation by all the community members with special attention to those who are neglected including women and children in community decision making.
  • Ensure the project objectives are achieved as planned and that all target beneficiaries have equal access to project interventions.
  • Assist field team members to deliver the set objectives of the project.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly plans and reports for project activities and develop activities and work plans for the field team members.
  • The Community Mobilization Officer will take lead on planning, implementation and follow-up of project activities and will report directly to the Project Manager.
  • Any other task or responsibility as assigned by the Project Manager/supervisor.

  • Works Directly With: M&E Team, Field Engineers, partners, community-based organizations, line departments (Health, education, and public health engineering) 

 Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor’s in social sciences with minimum three years of experience of working in community based projects with INGOS/ NGOs. Excellent communication and convincing power and a good listener. Excellent computer skills including MS office. Fluency in written and spoken English, Urdu and local languages, Track record of maintaining liaison with governmental and non-governmental partners. Fluency in local languages will be an asset and preferred. Demonstrated understanding of community-based interventions. Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines, and working and problem-solving independently and cooperatively. Effective verbal and written communication and experience of Microsoft Office applications.
