We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Secretary to join our full-service law firm based in Lahore. The ideal candidate will have expertise in legal drafting, legal research, opinion writing, and handling client meetings. As a Legal Secretary, you will provide comprehensive support to our legal team and contribute to the efficient operation of our firm.
Responsibilities:
Legal Drafting: Prepare, review, and edit legal documents, including contracts, agreements, pleadings, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards and firm guidelines.
Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research using various resources to gather relevant information and precedents for cases and legal opinions.
Opinion Writing: Assist attorneys in preparing legal opinions, memoranda, and briefs by organizing and summarizing research findings and drafting clear and concise written materials.
Client Meetings: Coordinate and schedule client meetings, including preparing meeting materials, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining effective communication with clients.
Document Management: Maintain and organize legal files, documents, and records, both in physical and electronic formats, ensuring proper filing, indexing, and retrieval.
Calendar Management: Manage attorneys' calendars, including scheduling appointments, court appearances, and deadlines, and send timely reminders to ensure compliance.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, such as answering phone calls, managing correspondence, and handling internal and external inquiries.
Client Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.
Billing and Timekeeping: Assist in the preparation of client invoices, track billable hours, and maintain accurate records of time and expenses incurred.
Legal Assistance: Assist attorneys with various tasks as assigned, including legal document filing, court filings, and case management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Law or related field is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience working as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal support role within a reputable law firm.
Legal Knowledge: Solid understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation, with experience in legal drafting, research, and opinion writing.
Computer Skills: Proficient in using legal software and applications, including MS Office Suite, legal research tools, and document management systems.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
