In this role, the Medical Biller will act as a critical liaison between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve billing and claim issues professionally and promptly. The candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and organizational abilities, enabling them to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently while maintaining comprehensive billing performance reporting. The position emphasizes attention to detail and compliance with healthcare industry regulations. The successful candidate will utilize their knowledge of current coding concepts and insurance guidelines to improve billing accuracy and overall revenue cycle efficiency. Candidates with experience in end-to-end billing operations and familiarity with practice management systems, clearinghouses, and insurance portals will excel in this role.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete revenue cycle management process, including patient registration, insurance verification, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Review and apply medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) accurately to ensure appropriate billing and reimbursement.
- Process insurance claims and resolve claim denials and rejections to maximize payments.
- Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to clarify billing issues and facilitate timely payment.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing software to enter and maintain accurate patient and billing data.
- Perform payment posting and account reconciliations to maintain precise financial records.
- Conduct aging analysis and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
- Prepare and present billing performance reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and organizational billing standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient and billing information in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
- Communicate professionally in written and verbal formats to support resolution of claim and billing issues.
- Work independently to meet productivity and accuracy targets in billing operations.
- Stay current with industry changes, coding updates, and billing best practices to maintain expertise.
