Application Support Engineer

The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and enhancement of hospital information systems (HIS), enterprise applications, and databases. The role involves troubleshooting application issues, writing and optimizing PL/SQL queries, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of critical healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for Hospital Information Systems (HIS), ERP, and other clinical or administrative applications.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related incidents in coordination with vendors and internal teams.
Develop, debug, and optimize PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and views in Oracle databases.
Collaborate with end-users to identify system issues and recommend effective solutions.
Support application deployments, patches, and upgrades in coordination with IT and vendors.
Maintain system documentation, data dictionaries, and change logs.
Assist in integrating third-party applications with existing hospital systems.
Monitor database performance and support data extraction, reporting, and analytics as required.
Ensure data security, compliance, and system reliability in alignment with hospital IT policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in application or database support (preferably in healthcare or enterprise systems).
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL programming.
Familiarity with HIS/ERP systems (knowledge of healthcare applications is an advantage).
Experience in troubleshooting application and database issues.
Basic understanding of networking, system logs, and Windows/Linux environments.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HL7, integration engines, or healthcare data exchange standards.
Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, Power BI, or Oracle Reports).
Exposure to ITIL-based service management processes.

Work Schedule:
Full-time (On-site support as per hospital operational hours)
