Import & Trade Specialist

We seek a highly organized and proactive Import & Trade Specialist to expertly manage end-to-end international trade transactions, ensuring the timely completion of import cycles and meticulous oversight of essential trade documentation. This role does not involve team management but requires close coordination with multiple stakeholders, including overseas suppliers, local customers, freight forwarders, and customs clearing agents, to drive operational efficiency. The successful candidate will leverage their solid knowledge in trade finance, import operations, and supply chain coordination to support business development initiatives by aiding in supplier and customer onboarding. They will handle critical tasks such as managing letters of credit, maintaining customs clearance documentation, and ensuring compliance with global trade requirements. This role suits a detail-oriented professional with at least one year of experience in the field, possessing excellent multitasking abilities and a strong command of English and Urdu. The Import & Trade Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the companys global supply chain processes while benefiting from competitive compensation and growth opportunities within an international trading environment.
Responsibilities

Manage the complete import cycle for both indenting and company imports from order confirmation through to shipment delivery and commission settlement.
Handle letters of credit (LC) including opening, drafting, amendments, and telegraphic transfer (TT) payments, working closely with banks to ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate effectively with overseas suppliers, local customers, freight forwarders, and customs clearing agents to streamline import operations and resolve any operational challenges.
Accurately enter data and maintain comprehensive filing systems for all trade-related documents including sales records, purchase orders, LCs, bank contracts, TT payments, and commission details to ensure easy accessibility.
Oversee customs documentation management by preparing and verifying all required documents to facilitate timely customs clearance and avoid delays in the supply chain.
Support the marketing and business development teams by identifying potential contact points, assisting with cold email campaigns, and helping to onboard new international suppliers and local customers.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade protocols, Incoterms, customs regulations, and industry-specific requirements, particularly in chemicals and polymers.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and manage any discrepancies or issues that arise during the transportation process.
Collaborate with internal and external parties to facilitate smooth import processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of import operations.
Implement and follow operational workflows, ensuring adherence to company key performance indicators to achieve trade operational excellence.
