Consultancy to Conduct Gender Assessment of Existing Local Support Organizations (LSOs) Women Groups (WG) and Community Support Organizations (CSOs) and conduct one-day training for the LSO, CSO, and WG members.

Background:

Legal Awareness Program for Human Rights Chitral is a non-government and nonprofit organization in Chitral since 2008. Currently, LAPH is implementing a project Strengthening Local Capacity to Address Gender Based Violence (GBV) under Advancing Gender Equality through Civil Society (AGECS) with the support of the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) in Lower and Upper Chitral Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Local Support Organizations (LSOs), Women Groups (WGs), and Community Support Organizations (CSOs) are the main stakeholders of LAPH under the project. In this context, LAPH must conduct a gender assessment of some such stakeholders in upper and lower Chitral.

Objectives of the consultancy:

LAPH seeks a qualified consultant to conduct a comprehensive gender assessment of 12 Local Support Organizations (LSOs), Women Groups (WGs), and Community Support Organizations (CSOs) in the Upper and Lower Chitral. Following the evaluation, the consultant will provide a one-day comprehensive training session for participants based on the assessment findings.

Consultant tasks:

Gender Assessment:

  • Conduct a thorough gender assessment of 12 LSOs and women’s groups.
  • Evaluate current gender dynamics, practices, and policies within the organizations.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in gender inclusivity and equality.

Training Session:

  • Develop a tailored training program based on the findings of the gender assessment.
  • Deliver a one-day training session to representatives from the assessed organizations.
  • Provide practical recommendations and strategies to enhance gender sensitivity and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data collection tools for the gender assessment.
  • Conduct interviews, focus group discussions, and surveys as needed.
  • Analyse data and compile a comprehensive report detailing the findings and recommendations.
  • Develop training materials and deliver an engaging and informative training session.

Deliverables & timeline:

The gender assessment and training session will be completed within one month of signing the contract.

Evaluation criteria:

  • Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting gender assessments and delivering training sessions.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of gender issues and best practices in organizational settings.
