The Techno-Commercial Officer serves as a key interface between customers, technical teams, and commercial functions, ensuring that customer requirements are effectively translated into technically sound and commercially viable solutions. The role combines technical expertise, business development, customer relationship management, and commercial support to drive sales growth and strengthen long-term customer partnerships.

The position is responsible for developing a clear understanding of customer needs, providing technical and commercial guidance, and supporting the sales team in identifying and converting business opportunities. This includes conducting product presentations and demonstrations, preparing technical and commercial proposals, quotations and tender submissions, and providing technical support throughout the sales process.

The role also involves conducting customer visits, audits, and technical assessments to evaluate product applications, identify improvement opportunities, and uncover potential business prospects. The officer is expected to provide customer training, address technical queries and complaints, and coordinate with internal functions such as Sales, R&D, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer requirements.

In addition, the Techno-Commercial Officer conducts market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, customer expectations, competitive developments, and new business opportunities. The role maintains relevant customer, market, tender, and sales information and provides accurate and timely reports to management to support business decisions.

The position ensures that all customer engagements, technical activities, proposals, and product-related activities are conducted in accordance with applicable industry standards, OEM requirements, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Overall, the role is focused on delivering customer-oriented technical solutions, supporting commercial growth, strengthening market presence, and building sustainable customer relationships through effective integration of technical and commercial expertise.


Responsibilities

    • Act as the primary contact for customers on technical and commercial matters.
    • Understand customer requirements and respond to technical/commercial queries.

    • Provide technical expertise to support the sales team.
    • Translate customer requirements into suitable technical and commercial solutions.
    • Identify and support potential business opportunities.
  3. Product Demonstrations & Presentations
    • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations.
    • Explain product features, specifications, applications, and commercial benefits.
    • Tailor demonstrations to customer requirements.
  4. Tender & Proposal Management
    • Prepare and coordinate technical and commercial proposals.
    • Develop quotations and tender submissions.
    • Ensure submissions meet customer requirements and company guidelines.
    • Track tender/proposal status and follow up on opportunities.
  5. Market Intelligence & Business Development
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
    • Monitor market trends and changing customer requirements.
    • Identify new business opportunities.
    • Evaluate competitive positioning and support business growth strategies.
  6. Customer Visits, Audits & Assessments
    • Conduct customer visits and technical assessments.
    • Perform customer audits where required.
    • Evaluate product applications and operational requirements.
    • Identify areas for improvement and potential sales opportunities.
  7. Customer Training
    • Plan and deliver product/technical training.
    • Coordinate training programs where necessary.

  8. Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Coordinate with Sales, R&D, Production, Quality, and other internal departments.
    • Ensure products and technical solutions meet customer requirements.
    • Communicate customer feedback and technical requirements internally.
  9. Customer Complaint & Technical Issue Resolution
    • Handle customer complaints, queries, and technical issues.
    • Coordinate with relevant departments to investigate problems.
    • Ensure timely and effective resolution.
    • Maintain communication with customers throughout the resolution process.
  10. Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare customer and sales reports.
    • Report on customer feedback and product performance.
    • Track tenders, quotations, and sales opportunities.
    • Provide market intelligence and business-development updates to management.
  11. Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure customer interactions and technical activities comply with applicable standards.
    • Follow OEM requirements and internal company policies.
    • Ensure proposals, demonstrations, audits, and customer engagements are properly documented and compliant.
