Key Purpose:

This fulltime position looks for a skilled individual with strong communication, networking and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities include managing and coordinating FR team, and volunteers, organizing events, developing donors, and grant writing. He must create effective strategies for maximizing donations for the organization's scope of work. He will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from local/ international organizations, Annual FR Events, Foundations, CSRs, Trusts and Major donors.

Experience in the development of individual donor Programs including donor marketing is also an advantage. He will be accountable for reaching fundraising targets, ensuring the development and timely submission of high-quality project proposals as well as working in close collaboration with thematic area technical teams and other departments.

Responsibilities for Individual/ Institutional Fundraising:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plan for fundraising that is aligned to the objectives of the organization.
  • Identify new potential income streams and produce strategies to access these funds.
  • Prepare & implement marketing plans to secure local FR from potential individuals.
  • Prepare annual fundraising plan and associated budgets required to fulfil the given targets.
  • Identify development opportunities in major partnership fundraising with individuals and organizational donors.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on income and OPEX adjustments to support the month end forecasting process.
  • Identify shortfalls in performance and discuss with the line manage, and prepare/ implement contingency plans to ensure that FR targets are met.
  • Ensure that all data is collected, managed and stored appropriately in compliance to Organizational standards.
  • Lead and motivate the RM/ fundraising teams to deliver against agreed KPIs through clear direction, delegation and regular feedback and reporting on key activities.
  • Report against agreed FR targets and performance indicators to the Director. Assess key issues and suggest for its determination.
  • Work to promote the development of a RM/ fundraising awareness in the organization.
  • Ensure that the procedures are in place to deliver an excellent donor experience and that they are thanked appropriately for their support with the right materials etc.

Responsibilities for Partnerships Building & Donor Engagement:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies or enhancing and grow revenue with assigned workplace accounts and donors.
  • Build networks with donors and partner organizations to seek long term new opportunities and commitments of funding.
  • Follow up and review reports for submissions to individual/ donors/ corporate organizations.
  • Follow up on fundraising activities and proper closure of activities/programs with relevant reports.
  • Development and implementation of communications strategies for getting the results and progress reports from project teams.

Departmental & General Responsibilities:

  • Lead communication with key donors and funders with the aim of cultivating, growing and sustaining long-term funding and collaboration.
  • Set and achieve realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Create a sustainable and diverse fundraising portfolio, with funding streams including individuals, major gifts, corporates, community, events, trusts/foundations and other grant-makers, with appropriate priorities.
  • Lead fundraising campaigns including, events based, school and school children-directed campaigns, door-to-door and by directly pitching the donors.
  • Compile and maintain a database of international, National and Local donor organizations
  • Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization.
  • Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization
  • Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochures, website content, annual report, posters etc.
  • Work closely with the project teams and other related functions to ensure understanding of any implications, risks and opportunities of individual funding applications/awards.
  • Remain abreast of institutional donor trends in line with global development goals and share knowledge as appropriate across the organization.
  • Any other related task being assigned by the line manager.

Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years of fundraising experience.
  • Should have previous experience in sales or marketing, sound knowledge of the charity sector and experience managing a team.
  • Knowledge of informal educational projects and out-of-school children's challenges would be a plus.
  • Excellent personal contacts and connections with potential major donors and supporters (essential).
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational abilities.
  • Able to work under pressure, meeting key projects and reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have Resource Mobilization Campaigns and Fundraising Events experience
  • Proven experience of services related to marketing campaigns for Funds generations 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Must meet the Quarter/ Annual Fundraising targets as per the commitment.
  • Excellent Fund Raising/ Resource Mobilization, Marketing Campaigns, Networking and communication are must.
  • Excellent Report writing skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required to build relationships with potential donors.
  • Ability to understand FR needs and generate budgets.
  • Ability to plan ahead and work within agreed timeframes
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as & when required
