Jk Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Polymer Engineer with at least five years of practical experience in PVC, uPVC, or HDPE pipe manufacturing or plastic extrusion and injection processes. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of raw-material formulation and mixing, extrusion process control, and quality control, focusing on maintaining optimal production flow and minimizing defects. This role requires expertise in managing temperature and dust control, cooling, cutting and socketing operations, along with scrap and rework reduction techniques to ensure superior product quality in a manufacturing environment. The candidate will apply comprehensive material characterization skills to improve process efficiency and product performance. This position is designed for an individual contributor who does not manage a team but works closely with production and quality assurance departments to troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvements. The Polymer Engineer will play a critical role in enhancing manufacturing practices by applying technical knowledge and practical experience to optimize the extrusion and injection molding processes. Collaboration within the company will be essential to meet manufacturing targets and maintain high standards in product quality and consistency.
Responsibilities

Formulate and mix raw materials accurately to develop PVC, uPVC, and HDPE compounds suitable for pipe and plastic product manufacturing.
Control the extrusion and injection manufacturing processes to maintain efficiency and meet quality standards.
Monitor and manage dust and temperature controls to ensure safe and optimal production conditions.
Operate and oversee cooling, cutting, and socketing processes to maintain product precision and reduce waste.
Implement quality control measures, identify production issues, and troubleshoot problems to reduce scrap and rework rates.
Analyze production flow and suggest improvements for enhanced efficiency and product quality.
Conduct material characterization to understand and verify the properties and behavior of polymer materials used in manufacturing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and quality assurance to address process challenges and introduce best practices.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to polymer manufacturing processes.
Maintain accurate records of process parameters, quality tests, and production outputs to support continuous improvement initiatives.
