Java Developer / Enterprise Integration Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer / Enterprise Integration Engineer based in Karachi, Pakistan, to join our team in a full-time, 100% remote role. This position requires working a mandatory night shift from 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM PKT. It is not suitable for students or those currently enrolled in academic programs. The ideal candidate will have over three years of professional Java experience, along with strong skills in SQL, stored procedures, and XML. Unlike typical Java development roles, this position emphasizes understanding, troubleshooting, and supporting complex enterprise applications, databases, and integration processes rather than primarily writing new Java code. The role involves analyzing existing Java applications, working extensively with SQL queries and stored procedures, processing XML data, and supporting enterprise system integrations. Adaptability, strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to expand technical expertise beyond conventional Java development are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Understand complex business logic embedded within existing Java applications.
- Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including performance tuning.
- Work extensively with XML documents, including parsing, validation, transformation, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze data flows between enterprise applications and support integration challenges.
- Provide production support and perform transaction-level troubleshooting.
- Review source code to comprehend application behavior and identify root causes of issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve application and integration problems.
- Learn and apply proprietary and company-specific technologies and platforms.
- Participate in testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment activities.
- Follow established development, security, and change-management procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Take ownership of assigned technical issues and projects.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional Java development experience with a solid understanding of Java fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and debugging techniques.
- Strong SQL skills, including expertise in complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, CASE statements, aggregate functions, stored procedures, transactions, and query optimization.
- Extensive experience with XML, including structure, parsing, generation, XPath, XSD/XML Schema, validation, transformation, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex enterprise applications and integrations.
- Willingness to transition from traditional Java development to enterprise integration and technical support roles.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while adhering to a night-shift schedule.
- Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and communication skills.

This role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from PKR 130,000 to PKR 170,000.
