An experienced Accountant specializing in Xero accounting software and collaborating closely with the Financial Controller FC plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day financial transactions, and providing valuable support to the FC in financial management and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping and Accounting:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciliation, and transaction recording using Xero.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, ledgers, and journals.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
2. Financial Reporting:
- Generate financial reports and statements from Xero, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Collaborate with the FC to compile and analyze financial data for decision-making.
3. Liaison with Financial Controller:
- Work closely with the FC to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Communicate financial data, variances, and key insights to the FC for strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.
4. Reconciliation and Auditing:
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial transactions in Xero.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of financial audits.
5. VAT and Tax Compliance:
- Ensure VAT compliance and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
- Collaborate with the FC to prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.
6. Financial Software and Systems:
- Utilize Xero to streamline financial processes, track expenses, and monitor financial health.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency in Xero and provide training and support to colleagues.
7. Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized financial records and document all financial transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
- Manage document retention and data security.
