Humaitec is seeking a motivated and disciplined Mobile App Development Intern to join our innovative team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates with a passion for mobile development and AI integration to gain hands-on experience in building cutting-edge mobile applications. The role requires a minimum commitment of three months during the summer period and is remote, with occasional monthly in-person meetups in Islamabad to foster team collaboration.
The ideal candidate is proactive, eager to learn, and possesses basic knowledge of Flutter, React Native, or Swift/Kotlin, along with an understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles and REST APIs. This internship focuses on integrating AI tools, specifically OpenAI APIs, into mobile applications, contributing to Humaitecs mission to deliver highly functional cross-platform apps. While this position does not involve managing a team, it provides a collaborative environment for skill development in mobile app development and AI application.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain mobile applications using Flutter, React Native, or other relevant frameworks under supervision.
- Collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement user-friendly and responsive mobile interfaces based on mobile design principles.
- Assist in testing, debugging, and optimizing mobile apps to ensure seamless performance across different devices and platforms.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services to enhance app functionality and responsiveness.
- Explore and implement AI models and APIs, including OpenAI API, to introduce AI-powered features in mobile apps.
- Participate actively in remote team meetings and the monthly in-person meetup in Islamabad to discuss progress, challenges, and learning opportunities.
- Follow the software development lifecycle processes, contributing to documentation, version control, and code reviews.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude by continuously learning new tools and technologies related to mobile development and AI integration.
- Maintain effective communication through written English and update professional profiles, such as LinkedIn, to reflect developmental growth.
- Adhere to work schedules and remote work protocols, ensuring reliable internet connectivity and discipline.
