Duties: 

  • Operate a Hiab truck with a lifting capacity of up to 50 tons to transport heavy loads to designated locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the Hiab truck to ensure its safe operation and compliance with regulations.
  • Secure loads properly on the truck using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent shifting during transportation.
  • Operate the Hiab crane with precision to lift and position heavy loads as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving and operating the Hiab truck.
  • Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of loads.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including load information, mileage, and any incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the Hiab truck and crane to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Assist other team members as needed and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy vehicles.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness (Dover test).
  • Proven experience as a Hiab driver operator, particularly with a 50-ton capacity truck.
  • Exceptional driving skills and a thorough understanding of road safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in operating a Hiab crane and handling heavy loads with precision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on safety.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
