Essential Duties:

  • Maintenance and Inspection: Conduct routine inspections of cranes to identify potential mechanical problems, wear and tear, or safety hazards. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements, to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation.
  • Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in cranes. Analyze symptoms, test components, and identify root causes of malfunctions to determine the most appropriate repair solutions.
  • Repair and Service: Perform repairs and service tasks to address identified issues and restore crane functionality. This includes repairing or replacing defective components, adjusting mechanisms, and calibrating systems to meet performance specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards while performing maintenance and repair activities. Follow safety procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and implement safety measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, work orders, parts used, and hours worked. Generate reports on crane maintenance status, repair history, and recommendations for future maintenance needs.
  • Parts Management: Manage parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure availability of required parts and materials for maintenance and repairs. Monitor stock levels, reorder parts as needed, and coordinate with suppliers to obtain quality parts in a timely manner.

Requirements 

  • High school diploma Matriculation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 -10 years of experience as a mechanic, with a focus on heavy and light tactical vehicles.
  • Completion of a vocational training program in heavy equipment mechanics, crane maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a crane mechanic or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing cranes.
  • Strong knowledge of crane systems, components, and operation, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methods for cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • In addition, they must have good written and verbal communication skills in local languages and Urdu.
