One of the Specialized Scheduled Bank is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head its Technology Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the bank's technology strategy and managing its information technology infrastructure. This role involves overseeing IT operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and maintaining a secure and efficient technological environment across the bank’s branches, offices, units, and other premises. The Head of Technology Division will report directly to the COO/President of the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, priorities, and procedures for the bank’s IT function, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Lead the design, establishment, and maintenance of the network infrastructure for local and wide area connectivity, ensuring seamless operation of IT services that align with business needs.
  • System Development: Oversee the selection, enhancement, and maintenance of systems necessary for the smooth processing of day-to-day banking operations.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Collaborate with critical departments, such as Branch Banking, Risk Management, Treasury, and Finance, to create an integrated and effective IT service platform. Implement the bank’s IT & Digital Strategy in line with Board-approved policies.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead projects for the digital transformation of the bank, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • Security & Compliance: Oversee and evaluate systems security, data storage, disaster recovery, and information security protocols. Ensure compliance with the SBP technology governance framework, banking laws, and internal guidelines.
  • Vendor Management: Identify and manage external vendors to deliver contracted IT services, ensuring they meet the bank’s standards.
  • Team Development: Provide feedback and guidance to team members to develop the skills and competencies necessary for effective performance. Address performance issues and ensure departmental targets and management expectations are met.

  Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of management experience in an IT environment within a commercial bank.
  • Proven ability to hire, manage, and retain a team of talented technology professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating with business leaders to enhance IT Division effectiveness.
  • PMP, ITIL, SCRUM certifications are desirable.

  Additional Information:

  • The candidate should be adept at keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate new business processes and system alterations.
  • The role requires a proactive approach to addressing audit irregularities and regulatory observations in IT, ensuring timely rectifications and preventing recurrence.
