Haier is seeking a Manager of Quality Control for Injection Molding operations to lead and enhance quality assurance initiatives within its manufacturing processes. This role entails developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality standards concerning raw materials, molds, in-process checkpoints, and finished goods. The manager will supervise and guide a team of 20 professionals, overseeing compliance with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 6S. Essential functions include analyzing quality performance metrics, driving root cause analysis, and instituting corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects and elevate production efficiency. The ideal candidate holds a bachelors degree in Mechanical, Polymer, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering and brings 20 years of experience specifically in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within injection molding or plastic manufacturing sectors. Expertise in quality tools, supplier quality management, mold flow analysis, and dimensional inspection techniques is crucial. This leadership position demands strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and implement quality improvement initiatives that align with industry standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive quality control procedures for all phases of injection molding operations including raw material receipt, molding processes, in-process inspections, and final product evaluation.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of 20 quality control professionals, providing mentoring, training, and performance guidance to achieve departmental goals.
  • Analyze production data and quality performance metrics to identify trends, variations, and areas requiring improvement to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international quality management standards such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards while promoting continuous improvement methodologies like 6S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints and internal defects to establish effective corrective and preventive actions in adherence with CAPA frameworks.
  • Oversee supplier quality management activities including audits and performance assessments to ensure raw material and component quality meets defined standards.
  • Manage calibration schedules for quality inspection instruments and maintain accurate quality documentation to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate quality training programs and conduct regular quality review meetings to foster a strong quality culture and awareness among production teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and supply chain to integrate quality objectives into operational planning and execution.
  • Utilize dimensional inspection techniques and mold flow analysis to optimize injection molding processes and eliminate defects related to mold design and material flow.
  • Implement statistical process control (SPC), measurement systems analysis (MSA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to proactively monitor and mitigate potential quality failures.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focusing on waste reduction, process optimization, and enhanced product reliability through disciplined application of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Maintain active engagement with quality auditing processes and ensure readiness for internal and external audits aimed at verifying compliance with quality standards.
  • Report regularly to senior management on quality performance, improvement initiatives, and key risk areas with actionable insight for decision-making.
