Set Designer

GS Productions seeks a highly creative and detail-oriented Set Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of artistic vision and technical skills, with a robust ability to translate concepts into visually striking sets for various productions. This role involves not only crafting innovative designs but also leading a team of ten individuals, mentoring interns, and nurturing their growth into independent set designers and art directors. Responsibilities

Lead the set design team in creating innovative and functional design solutions for various productions.
Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to understand and interpret production requirements.
Develop sketches, blueprints, and detailed designs using CAD software and Photoshop to visualize set concepts.
Oversee the construction of sets, ensuring that all designs are built to specification and quality standards.
Manage the workflow of the set design team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are met.
Conduct regular meetings with team members to provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback.
Mentor interns and junior designers, helping them develop their skills and prepare for future roles as independent set designers and art directors.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in set design, sharing insights with the team to foster innovative practices.
Coordinate with the art department to ensure cohesion between set designs and other visual elements of the production.
Evaluate and optimize project management tools and processes for improved workflow and collaboration.
