Fraser Russell Limited is a growing UK based firm of Chartered Accountants which is registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) providing Audit, Tax, Accounting and Advisory services to a wide range of businesses  of all sizes in the UK. We are an authorized ICAEW training provider and hold the platinum award for Training ACCA trainee Accountants.

We have decided to open our new Accounting Services office in Islamabad, Pakistan from June 2023 to bolster our UK compliance services whereby some of our UK work will be completed in the Islamabad office. All our clients are UK based and all work done in the Islamabad office is for the UK clients only.

To assist us with the establishment and head up our office in Islamabad, we are looking for a newly qualified ambitious ACCA, UK ICAEW or ICAP Chartered Accountant with at least 5 years of working in a local Pakistan Chartered Accountancy firm.

You will be responsible to lead a small team of two to three  team members and report directly to the Manager or Partners at our UK office.

What we are looking for

Due to continuous growth, we seek a Senior Accountant/Supervisor to help with our UK compliance services.  To satisfy the needs of our UK clients, you must be able to prioritize tasks while adhering to strict deadlines established by the UK office. Our UK staff will guide and assist you, ensuring that the work you create adheres to UK accounting standards. For the appropriate applicant and subject to performance and immigration rules and requirements, there is an opportunity for employment in our UK offices via sponsorship as part of managing the operations in the UK to liaise and manage the Pakistan office(s).

We are keen to hear from candidates that are either ACCA, ICAP or UK ICAEW qualified that are technically strong with the ability to adapt and remain updated with compliance of UK Accounting standards, namely FRS102.

You must have robust attention to detail with the  ability to prioritize tasks and communicate across all business levels, Strong IT skills including Excel, any ERP systems experience (Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero etc).  Support and guidance will be provided to the successful candidate to work on our  compliance software that include Caseware, Rapport and BTC and therefore you must be keen to learn these software for career progression.

You should be technically strong, keeping up to date with adaptations in compliance standards.

Your written and spoken English must be of a high standard because you will interact with members of our UK office who speak English. Please be aware that the UK office does not speak or write Urdu, so your written and spoken English must be of a high standard. A clear pathway of progression is on offer in what is seen as a long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial records (Bookkeeping) using various software (Xero, Quick book, VT, Sage 50 and Excel)
• Accounts preparation for limited companies from base records or from fully reconciled trial balances (either internally or externally generated) with either up to trial balance stage or full accounts.
• Prepare financial statements with disclosures required by FRS-105 and FRS-102
• Compute Corporation Tax according to UK tax legislation
• Draft letters and other necessary documents for correspondence
• Prepare VAT returns according to UK VAT legislation
• Prepare individual’s personal income tax returns according to UK tax legislation
• Prepare monthly and weekly payroll using our software, namely payroll manager.
• Preparation of management accounts
• Cashflows and projections
• Assistance with UK personal self-assessment tax returns
• Support with UK Audit work as and when required
• Supporting and guiding trainees as appropriate, primarily with technical queries including that of supervision of their training diaries, performance reports, etc
• Supervision of your office with weekly reporting of task and deadlines
• Assist in recruitment of staff as required on growth of office.

Base gross salary of up to Pak Rs100,000 per month, dependent upon experience

For those that also wish to become members of ICAEW, then for the right candidate and subject to performance a training contract can be provided as requited to meet so eventually you progress to become and ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

Due to the adoption of work hours to UK, candidates are expected to work from 12pm to 9pm into account breaks and holidays.

Next steps

Those that are successful from the virtual meetings will be ask to attend an in person meeting in Islamabad from 11 May 2023 to 16 May 2023 when the UK Partner will visit Islamabad.
