Excel Engineering is seeking an Assistant Manager for the CNC Machining Department who will oversee a large team of 500 personnel in the production of automotive parts. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of experience within an auto part manufacturing environment and possesses strong expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, operation, and maintenance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can efficiently manage daily machining activities while ensuring quality standards and operational efficiency are consistently met. The assistant manager collaborates with other departments to optimize workflow, reduce downtime, and enhance the capabilities of the CNC machining team. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising and guiding the team, maintaining machinery in optimal condition, and implementing best practices to meet production targets. They drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a safe work environment adhering to company policies. The role demands effective leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational capabilities to coordinate complex manufacturing processes and contribute to the overall growth of Excel Engineering.
Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a large team of CNC operators and technicians to ensure smooth production operations and adherence to schedules.
  • Coordinate CNC machine setup, programming, and operation to meet manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize machining efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment within the CNC machining department.
  • Plan workforce schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet fluctuating production demands.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues and improve product design.
  • Conduct training and development programs to enhance team capabilities and technical skills.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory of machining tools, materials, and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Prepare reports on departmental performance, machine utilization, and team productivity for senior management.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the CNC machining department and across other company divisions.
