Accountant

Euro Africa Travel is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with a minimum of three years of experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree, MBA, or MCom and possess strong expertise in financial reporting, general ledger management, tax compliance, and account reconciliation. This role involves significant responsibility in managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, as well as overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions. The successful Accountant will ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations to support the companys financial health and operational efficiency. In this position, the Accountant will lead a team of two professionals, providing guidance and support to optimize workflows and maintain high standards of financial integrity. The role requires proficiency in billing and invoicing software, invoice processing and verification, and advanced Excel capabilities to manage complex financial data and generate detailed reports. The Accountant will collaborate closely with internal departments to streamline billing processes and maintain effective accounts receivable management, contributing directly to the fiscal success of Euro Africa Travel.
Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Manage the general ledger by recording and reconciling all financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial activities are completed accurately and timely.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing tax returns, supporting documentation, and coordinating with tax authorities.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, verification, and timely payments.
Conduct account reconciliations to ensure all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
Utilize billing and invoicing software to generate accurate invoices, maintain billing records, and manage payment processing.
Monitor accounts receivable balances, facilitating collections and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Lead and supervise a team of two accounting professionals, providing training, feedback, and performance management.
Develop and implement efficient financial workflows and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data, create reports, and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial policies are adhered to and support overall business objectives.
Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
Continuously monitor financial policies and procedures to recommend improvements for accuracy, process efficiency, and compliance.
