Company Introduction:
For the last 23 years, Escorts Advanced Textiles Pvt Ltd, is the authorized converter of E.I DuPont™ Kevlar® and Nomex® products in Pakistan. We manufacture engineered yarns and fabrics which protect against life-threatening hazards like Cut, Fire, Heat, Abrasion, and Electric Arc etc. These fabrics are used for making Fire Fighting Suits, Flame and heat retardant coveralls, protective Motorbike Denim, cut-resistant gloves etc. We have an in-house spinning, knitting and stitching facility. Reputable companies working in Pakistan like MOL, PPL, Schlumberger, UEP, and Halliburton use our finished products to protect their employees from different hazards.
Major Responsibilities
- To ensure the availability of all the required safety equipment including fire extinguishers, toolboxes, first-aid kits and safety equipment on their designated spots.
- To arrange classes, seminars and meetings for procedural understanding of set safety standards among staff and workers.
- To educate the supervisors and senior staff about the safety checks and ensure the periodic inspection of set standards.
- To inspect and regularly update the firefighting equipment and ensure procedural education among the designated personnel.
- To daily inspect the changes in the dynamic work environment and point out hazardous materials or procedures to the senior staff to avoid probable accidents.
- To work to mitigate the noise, fire, and electric hazards in coordination with the relevant department.
- To ensure implementation of safety protocols for all contractual employees and civil works.
- To ensure that all the safety-related incidents are logged daily. To work on them to mitigate the causes to avoid any buildup towards probable accidents.
Requirements and skills
- Mechanical and technical expertise and experience of designing, installing and maintaining safety equipment such as fire pumps & hydro systems etc.
- In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics Eligibility Criteria
- BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or a relevant field is preferred
- Certificate in occupational health and safety
- 4 to 5 years of work experience.
