We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import Assistant to join our team. As an Import Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the logistics and documentation involved in international trade. You will work closely with the Import  Manager to ensure the smooth flow of goods and compliance with customs regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong understanding of import procedures.

  1. Manage the import process by coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  2. Prepare and review shipping and customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bill of lading, and customs declarations.
  3. Coordinate with the logistics team to arrange transportation and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
  4. Ensure compliance with import laws and regulations by staying updated on changes in customs requirements and assisting with customs clearance procedures.
  5. Assist in the preparation of import documentation for audits and compliance checks.
  6. Maintain accurate records of import transactions, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs declarations.
  7. Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to customers and suppliers.
  8. Coordinate with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of import duties, taxes, and freight charges.
  9. Assist in managing inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers for timely deliveries, and resolving any discrepancies.
  10. Support the Import Export Manager in analyzing market trends, identifying potential suppliers or customers, and developing strategies to expand international trade opportunities.
