We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a strong background in working with government contractors and consultants, preferably with experience at NLC, NHA This role requires an in-depth understanding of cost management, contract administration, and procurement within the construction industry, specifically for high-rise developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of the construction project, ensuring accurate budgeting and cost control measures are in place.
- Tender Preparation and Evaluation: Manage the tendering process, including preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation with contractors and suppliers.
- Contract Administration:Oversee the administration of contracts, including preparation of bills of quantities, managing contract variations, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize cost overruns and project delays.
- Cost Control and Reporting: Monitor and report on project costs, progress, and any variations to the budget. Prepare monthly cost reports for stakeholders and senior management.·
- Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of suppliers and subcontractors, negotiation of terms, and management of procurement schedules.·
- Coordination with Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project meets all quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Value Engineering: Provide input on value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and project objectives.
- Site Visits and Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a significant portion spent on high-rise building projects.
- Proven experience working with government contractors and consultants.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tender processes, and cost management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.· Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
