The Project Management Office (PMO) Lead at EFU Life Assurance Ltd. is responsible for establishing and overseeing the PMO's functions. The PMO Lead ensures that all projects align with the organizational goals, are executed efficiently, and adhere to established project management frameworks. The role involves developing project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, providing support to project managers and teams, and performing post-project evaluations. The PMO Lead also ensures all initiatives undergo value-based assessments by balancing financial and non-financial impacts, while closely collaborating with the Steering Committee to report on project progress and strategic alignment. With a strong emphasis on quality, resource management, and stakeholder communication, the PMO Lead plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of excellence in project delivery.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic PMO policies and procedures to enhance project management efficacy across the organization.
  • Establish a standardized value-based assessment process for all initiatives, focusing on comprehensive evaluations of both financial and non-financial impacts.
  • Lead the creation and rollout of prefeasibility and feasibility study guidelines, ensuring stakeholders are trained and equipped to utilize these frameworks effectively.
  • Design and manage mechanisms for selecting and overseeing third-party vendors involved in projects, including the development of robust contracts that outline expectations, deliverables, and accountability metrics.
  • Create, monitor, and enforce project management standards and methodologies that align seamlessly with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate actively with the Steering Committee to confirm project alignment with organizational strategies, delivering regular status updates and outcome reports.
  • Oversee the project portfolio to ensure all projects align with strategic organizational objectives, facilitating effective resource allocation.
  • Provide comprehensive guidance and support to project managers, enhancing their capabilities through tools, methodologies, training, and mentoring.
  • Establish and implement project selection and approval systems, ensuring alignment with strategic organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to offer a holistic view of project impacts, guiding decisions around resource allocation, selection, and prioritization of projects.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and audits to verify projects remain on track regarding scope and budget.
  • Develop and maintain project performance metrics and dashboards to systematically track progress, outcomes, and overall success.
  • Prepare and present regular reports detailing project statuses, risks, and any issues encountered to the CEO and the Project Management Committee.
  • Identify areas for improvement within project delivery and enhance overall performance through proven best practices.
  • Design and conduct post-project evaluations, documenting findings to share with senior management and inform future initiatives.
  • Efficiently coordinate and allocate resources across departments or projects to secure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage the PMO budget, ensuring the prudent and effective use of resources.
  • Serve as the primary communication liaison for project-related inquiries, promoting transparency and clarity among stakeholders.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to clearly communicate project objectives, progress, and any issues, allowing for adjustments as necessary.
  • Identify potential risks proactively during the project life cycle, devising mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the risk management team to integrate risk management processes into project planning and execution.
  • Evaluate and refine project management processes and tools continuously to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives for post-project learning to promote continuous improvement and optimized project outcomes.
  • Stay informed of evolving industry trends and best practices in project management, applying new knowledge to enhance the PMO's operations.
