Eastern Medical Technology Services is seeking a diligent Import Executive to manage and coordinate the import operations efficiently. The successful candidate will oversee the processing and clearance of international shipments, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and company policies. With a background in supply chain management or business administration and at least five years of relevant experience, the Import Executive is responsible for maintaining smooth logistics coordination across various stakeholders including freight forwarders, suppliers, and customs authorities. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle complex documentation related to import activities without managing a team. The Import Executive plays a critical role in supporting the companys supply chain objectives by ensuring accurate and timely import documentation and compliance with international trade regulations. This position demands proactive communication with all parties involved in the supply chain to prevent delays and resolve any issues related to customs clearance or shipment processing. The role is pivotal in optimizing import workflows, enhancing operational efficiency, and safeguarding the companys interests in cross-border transactions through effective import management practices.
Responsibilities

  • Process and verify all import documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and international customs regulations.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, suppliers, and customs officials to facilitate smooth clearance and delivery of imported goods.
  • Monitor and track international shipments to ensure they are delivered on time and update relevant stakeholders on shipment status.
  • Maintain accurate records of import transactions, licenses, certificates, and customs declarations for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure all imported goods comply with applicable international trade regulations, including tariffs, duties, and import licenses.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to synchronize import activities and support overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, customs holds, or discrepancies in import documentation promptly and efficiently.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs policies, international trade laws, and import procedures to maintain compliance and avoid penalties.
  • Prepare reports and documentation required for internal review, compliance audits, and government regulations.
  • Optimize import processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to reduce lead times and costs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure clarity and coordination throughout the import cycle.
