As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of our database systems. You will work closely with development teams to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

  • Ensure the performance, security, and availability of databases.

  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.

  • Perform database tuning and optimization.

  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery plans.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas.

  • Ensure data integrity and implement data security measures.

  • Create and manage database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 6 years of experience in database administration.

  • Proven experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and security.

  • Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.

  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).

  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Experience with data replication and high-availability solutions.

  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
