About the Position
Do you bring experience in leading academic institutions within Pakistan? If so, We are hiring! The Data Institute, Pakistan is seeking the ideal candidate for a strategic and mission-critical role of a Sr. Director of Academics. In this role, you will oversee all academic and administrative duties and partner with industry leaders from Microsoft, Nvidia, and Careem to name a few. You will participate actively in hiring instructors, scholars and researchers and will oversee cutting edge curriculum development in the space of Statistics, Computer Science, Data and AI.

With the exponential growth in Pakistani startups, the country is experiencing record levels of investment where both local and foreign players are starting to sit up and take notice of Pakistan’s explosive startup environment. DIP is a new institute which envisions to bridge the gap between academia and industry through relevant hands-on training and arranging affordable data science classes, workshops for the learning and skill development of students, and entrepreneurs with a background in STEM.
Job Responsibilities
The Sr. Director of Academics will have both institutional and board responsibility. As such he/she is accountable for:
Leadership and Strategic Direction
- Develop and champion a shared vision for the Institute\'s future, in line with DIP’s mission.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Instructors to enhance research, research training, and academic programs.
- Evaluate the unit’s research, engagement, and teaching activities, addressing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
Academic Management
- Oversee and enhance engagement and teaching activities.
- Maintain communication with the board, faculty, and broader organization networks.
- Represent the organization in various professional, industry, and government contexts.
Faculty and Students
- Lead recruitment, selection, and induction of instructors, employing a targeted approach (KPIs) for high-caliber academic staff.
- Collaborate with faculty, board, and staff to develop and improve curriculum.
- Oversee student recruitment efforts.
- Monitor quarterly results and compile progress reports.
Requirements
- You have demonstrated experience as an educational leader, preferably in a technical or vocational college setting.
- You have experience in managing and leading teams, including recruitment and selection of high-caliber staff and students.
- You have familiarity with trends and developments in the technology and vocational education sectors.
- You have the ability to inspire and guide both students and staff, fostering a positive and productive school culture.
- You have a master's degree in education, educational leadership, or a relevant field.
