General Manager (Container Shipping)

Culines Shipping is seeking an experienced General Manager specializing in Container Shipping to lead and oversee our container shipping operations. This role is critical in managing day-to-day operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring seamless commercial activities within the container shipping division. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in container shipping and liner services, with strong expertise in trade lane management, network planning, and capacity allocation. They must be adept at managing financial performance, including budgeting and profit and loss accountability, while leveraging strong analytical skills to inform data-driven decisions and optimize costs. Managing a diverse team of 20 professionals, this role requires excellent leadership abilities and experience in fostering a productive and motivated team environment. The General Manager will also be responsible for building and nurturing strategic customer and partner relationships by negotiating contracts and developing commercial growth strategies. A thorough understanding of international shipping regulations, port operations, customs processes, and compliance standards is crucial for success in this position. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills in English, with additional regional language proficiency being advantageous. The role involves regular onsite work in Karachi and frequent business trips to Dubai and Singapore. The ability to collaborate effectively with multicultural teams across different time zones is essential. A bachelor's degree or higher is required, along with a strong history of driving process improvements, implementing operational best practices, and utilizing digital tools or container shipping management software to enhance logistics and shipping management functions.

Utilize container shipping management software and digital tools to streamline operations and provide accurate reporting.
Coordinate and collaborate with multicultural teams across various locations including Karachi, Dubai, and Singapore.
Conduct regular business trips to key regional hubs for relationship management and operational oversight.
Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to align goals and expectations.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
