Supervisor (Systems/Hosting)

COMSATS Internet Services (CIS), Pakistan's pioneer Internet Service Provider, seeks an experienced Supervisor (Systems/Hosting) to join the Islamabad office on a contract basis. This role requires hands-on expertise in server management, cloud hosting platforms, and virtualization technologies to ensure seamless operation and security of hosting environments. The ideal candidate has proficiency in Windows Server Management, VMware vSphere, Active Directory Management, and disaster recovery techniques. The role demands attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain service availability with minimal downtime. While the position does not involve management of a team, it requires effective handling of escalated issues from junior staff and ensuring 24/7 availability for emergencies.
Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain server health and resource availability to ensure consistent service uptime across hosting platforms.
Handle advanced domain and hosting issues, taking prompt action to resolve complex technical problems.
Supervise email systems by monitoring email queues to prevent traffic overload and mitigate spam issues.
Ensure weekly and monthly backups of hosting accounts to safeguard data and facilitate recovery if necessary.
Maintain and preserve service logs for at least one year to support troubleshooting and compliance needs.
Manage the migration of hosting accounts between servers with minimal disruption to services.
Rapidly restore hosting services in cases of system failure to minimize downtime and impact on clients.
Implement and maintain stringent security protocols to protect hosting servers from threats and vulnerabilities.
Address escalated technical issues from subordinates and provide expert guidance for resolution.
Remain available on-call 24/7 to respond to emergency situations and critical service interruptions.
Prepare detailed reports regarding server performance, maintenance activities, and completed tasks for management review.
