The candidate leads a team of two professionals and works proactively to monitor server health, handle emergency response, and maintain high availability of hosting services in a fast-paced environment. The position demands expertise in both Linux and Windows operating systems, hosting control panels, and server security protocols.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for optimizing email traffic to prevent overload and spam, managing server resources effectively, and promptly restoring services in case of failures. The role includes monitoring server logs, implementing configuration management, and safeguarding server infrastructure from security threats. The candidate must be available on call 24/7 to respond to emergencies and maintain service continuity. Expertise in domain registration processes, SSL installation, and various hosting technologies is essential, with relevant Red Hat Linux and Microsoft certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
COMSATS Internet Service in collaboration with Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) have deployed L-Root Servers in Islamabad and Lahore. The L-Root instances in Pakistan have helped improve internet speeds and disseminate traffic allowing users to experience reduced response time for DNS queries, and significantly improved inter-networking efficiency of country’s Internet infrastructure.
