Overview: As a Web Security Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our web-based systems and applications. Your primary goal will be to protect our organization's web assets from potential threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks. You will collaborate closely with our development, IT, and operations teams to implement and maintain robust security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough security assessments and audits of our web applications, websites, and infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard our web assets against cyber threats.
Design, implement, and manage web application firewalls (WAFs), intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other security controls to monitor and protect our web environments.
Perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability scanning to proactively identify and address security issues.
Respond to security incidents, investigate security breaches, and implement appropriate incident response measures to minimize the impact.
Stay up to date with the latest web security trends, technologies, and threats to continuously improve our security posture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure that security requirements are met at every stage.
Provide guidance and support to developers and engineers on secure coding practices, security architecture, and threat modeling.
Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.
Monitor and analyze web traffic, logs, and security events to detect and mitigate potential security risks.
Evaluate and recommend security solutions, tools, and technologies to enhance our web security infrastructure.
Participate in security audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory compliance efforts as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced degree.
Proven experience in web application security, including threat modeling, security testing, and secure coding practices.
In-depth knowledge of web application security principles, OWASP Top 10, and common attack vectors.
Hands-on experience with web application firewalls (WAFs), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side scripting languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Ruby).
Familiarity with web server technologies (e.g., Apache, Nginx), web application frameworks (e.g., Django, Ruby on Rails), and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex web security issues and propose effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Experience with cloud security, DevSecOps practices, and container security is a plus.
