Bahawalpur Rural Development Project

Bahawalpur rural Development Project is a multi-sectoral Poverty Alleviation Project launched by Government of Punjab with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank & Islamic Development Bank in the poverty stricken region of southern Punjab (Total Project Cost is Rs. 3110 million). The project is unique and social oriented in nature with the objective of increase in rural income and employment through Capacity building of rural communities, provision of rural infrastructure services; value added production and fostering the economic and marketing activities in the area. In order to achieve the said objectives, BRDP implemented about 1800 sub-projects in rural areas of Bahawalpur Division (defunct).
