- Overseeing the import/export process from start to finish, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation logistics.
- Ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, tariffs, customs laws, and other legal requirements to avoid penalties and delays.
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth transactions and timely delivery of goods.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities in import/export processes, negotiating shipping rates, and optimizing freight routes to minimize expenses.
- Monitoring inventory levels, forecasting demand, and coordinating shipments to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory costs.
- Assessing and mitigating risks associated with international trade, such as currency fluctuations, geopolitical tensions, and transportation delays.
- Ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and export/import licenses, and maintaining records for audit purposes.
- Conducting market research to identify potential import/export opportunities, analyzing market trends, and staying informed about changes in trade policies and regulations.
- Providing support to customers regarding import/export inquiries, resolving issues related to shipments, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Liaising with internal teams (such as sales, finance, and logistics) and external stakeholders (such as customs authorities, shipping companies, and suppliers) to coordinate import/export activities effectively.
